I delivered at a birthing center - I don't even think they had wheelchairs there! I delivered at 11:00 am and was home by 6:30 pm the same day. I think I was still in shock at the time!

I had a c-section and was wheeled out. I was wheeled out again a week later when lo was discharged from the NICU even though I was already discharged.

How sad but I cannot remember. I think I walked out since it was 4 days later and I left with no babies, they were in the NICU. But I do remember walking out with them. The nurse came down to the car with me. I had to put the baby in the car seat and she carried the car seat down and then I had to put it in the car.

I walked, although another lady with a newborn who was leaving at the same time was in a wheelchair. I guess she asked for one?

I could not have walked from my room to the elevator to the door to the car. No way. I was doing good to walk around my room and to the bathroom!

our hosp policy is that everyone needs to be wheeled out. dd was discharged the day after me and she even needed to be wheeled out.

I was wheeled with DS in my arms...and it was a long ride. I can't imagine having to walk that - NO WAY!

I was wheeled out, the nurse wouldnt even let me carry our bags or anything even though I was there for 3 days and didnt even have a c-section. She made DH carry everything!!

While I'm jealous that you got to give birth at a birthing center, I can't even imagine what I would have done without my nurses for the three days I was at the hospital! I almost didn't want to leave. Then again, I had a c-section and needed all the help I could get!

I walked both times, but both girls were wheeled in their little bassinett things to the door, we were not allowed to put them in their carseat before.

I walked out. It wasn't the greatest. I had to get DH to go get the car and bring it around, I couldn't make it to the garage, even though we would have used the elevator.

I'm not sure a wheelchair would have been better, going over all those bumps in a seat with little support.

Walked in, walked out. I'm kind of bummed I didn't get the wheelchair treatment. We didn't even have a nurse escort us out.

It was pretty crazy - although I did love being able to sleep in my own bed. I couldn't imagine having a C-section.

I guess I never considered it...I walked from the delivery room to postpartum, so I didn't think twice about walking out of the hospital when we left.

Me too. Delivered at 2:02, was home by 7:00. We wanted to leave earlier but they made us stay to monitor us. Definitely walked out
