We started using ours once LO could maintain holding her head up. She didn't really like it. She used her boppy for balance more than the bumbo. We could have went w/o it and spent the $30 somewhere else.
We could have lived without ours. I can count on one hand how many times we used it.
This, we used it but not often. He really did not care for it that much. Plus I have read that it really is not that great. If you do get one and use it let baby stay in it for very short periods of time. The chair gives to much support and does not allow your baby to really work on building up their back muscles. Its better to just sit with them and help them that way.
until the past few weeks, DD hated the bumbo. It seemed to make her very uncomfortable (I've heard some say their pedi says not to use it until after 4mo when Lo's spines are a little more developed). I only use it for eating when we're not at home....she tolorates it for a while but it's not like her 'sit and play' chair by any means.
we borrowed one from a friend of ours and i'm glad we didn't waste the $$ on it. He only sat in it a few times and didn't like it. I think they're a waste...especially for how much $$ they are. If you really want one check craigslist.

We debated for a while about getting one and I'm so glad we didn't. The time frame between when they're learning to sit and can sit on their own is soooo short. Save the money and the space!
I had one only cause my neighbor gave me her brand new one. I'm not sure I would have spent the $40 for one but maybe look on craigslist. I did like it a lot though. I ended up selling it on craigslist for 30.
DD liked hers, but it wasn't a must have item. We could have lived without it. It was given to us, and we wouldn't have bought it on our own. But it was good from about 2 months through 4 or 5 months. We had the play tray with it too.
I seem to be in the minority here, but we LOVE ours. So much so, we bought one for Nana as well. DD didn't love it at first, but as she got older and wanted to sit up more she prefered it over her rocking/vibrating chair which had more of a recline; now I don't know what I'd do without it. We still haven't gotten a high chair, cause we feed her in the Bumbo, and it really cuts down on the wiggling. I will put her in it too to keep her out of trouble why I do dishes, or whatever, and put little snacks on the tray. We love ours and I would highly recommend it. The only issue I know some babies have with the bumbo is their legs become too big to fit, which we haven't really had an issue with because DD is really long and skinny.
We have one, we LOVED it. I would set LO on the counter next to me while I was preparing dinner or washing dishes, he loved being able to see me and what I was doing. He would still sit in it now but Im affraid he would figure out how to squirm out by now. I know Im like the only person who actually got use out of theirs but I worked at a daycare before LO was born and every baby there hated them too, we got ours as a gift and my LO just happen to love it, so it worked out for us!
We got ours from craigslist with the tray for $20. I'm glad I didn't buy one new. But I'm also glad we got it. I use it in the kitchen. Started around 3 months. He just started twisting himself in order to get out of it within the past week. So we used it about 5 months. Time to retire both the Bumbo and Bouncy seat now.
We got ours when DD was 3.5 months old, b/c we needed something for her to sit up in to help the flat spot on her head to "pop" back out, and we needed it at 4 months when she started eating solids. We still use it for brief periods of time, although she loves spending time on her stomach with her head and feet up, LOL. She hated the bouncer seat and didn't like her swing for 2 months, so I'm surprised in a way that she likes her Bumbo.
I've only used it a few times, mainly to feed DS. I put him in his high chair initially, but he was too distracted and kept trying to eat the harness straps. I could do without it, although I only paid $15 for it since I got it off craigslist.
We also borrowed one from a friend and DD hated it. I think she used it about 5 times. It's been sitting in the closet for the past 3 months. If you really want one I'd check out craiglist or a kids' consignment shop.
We got the bumbo the day before DS started sitting up on his own. In our "defense" it was a week after he turned 3 months, so really soon. He hated the thing. We used it a few times for solids feeding as we were shopping for the highchair but it was uncomfortable. Yes, we could have lived without it.

She loved her bouncy seat though!
Same here. I used the bouncy seat even less though (I know that isn't common). My DD loved the swing.

Bouncy seat was great! Used it in the bathroom.
