Hi ladies, I'm Jeannie (39) and DH (40) and we're ttc #1. We've been ttc since Jun 09 and had a MC @ 8wks in Aug and have been unsuccessful since. So I have an appt with IVF Florida in Margate with Dr. Keegan. What can you all tell me about the Margate office and the MD in particular? Any other recommendations?? Thank you!
Re: Has anyone been to IVF Florida in Margate?
HI Jeannie and welcome! I don't have any experience with IVF Florida in Margate. I saw Dr Denker at Palm Beach Fertility. The office staff was great, dr was ok but regardless, they got the work done, and I was able to get pregnant within the first six months of seeing him.
I have heard wonderful things about Dr Peress ( I am pretty sure that's his name). Everyone I know who went to him, love him!
Good luck!!
I have been to IVF of Florida in Margate. I mainly saw Dr. Hoffman. I did two fresh cycles and a frozen cycle. It was not a good experience and none of the cycles resulted in a pregnancy. If you have any specific questions about the office, I could probably answer them. I went there for almost a year.
I ended up going to the Colorado Center for Reproductive Medicine to get pregnant.
I have been to Dr. Peress for monitoring (Boca Fertility). He did my monitoring (ultrasounds, bloodwork) for CCRM since I cycled out of state. I liked him and his staff were friendly minus one woman. But, again, I only used them for monitoring so I can't speak of his ability to do procedures.
I went there for one cycle (when I thought I had to have chemo). I saw Dr. Ory. I like him a lot!! He would call me to make sure I was doing okay through my surgeries, etc. The staff were really great too. But it's all the same really, somewhat of a baby mill...
I consulted with PBF with Dr. Denker too. I had weird vibes from him, perhaps it was his clothes and office reaking of cigarettes, we never went back.

Not sure on distance, but I've been going to So FL Center for Reproductive Medicine. I see Dr Thomspon. I go to the So Miami location, but they have an office in Pembroke Pines. I really like her; she's very thorough... and the staff is great!
GL!

Thank you ladies for your feedback and the recs! I was able to get an appt with the Margate office on Monday so I will feel them out then. It's nice to know that there are other facilities in the area I can go to if I don't have a good vibe on Monday. I did learn that the doctor I will be seeing there is one of the Fertility Experts on The Bump's Panel....so I will update you all after my appt.
I'm new to this so I just hope it goes well and it doesn't take too long! Gosh I can just kick myself for not trying sooner...I'm sure you all probably feel the same. GL all and I'll kup

So I had my consultation with Dr. Keegan yesterday and it went very well. I was impressed with the time they took with me. I first met with an RN who did a thorough history and then sat with the RE who reviewed my TTC journey, performed a physical, and suggested next steps which includes Day 3 bloodwork, a HSG, and a SA. My husband and I felt very comfortable with her and the office staff. She was very optimistic and gave a lot of information and we had plenty of time with her. It's only the beginning but I'm happy with the facility and my physician.
Again this is so new to us and I appreciate all the feedback I received. Good luck ladies and keep in touch

What a horrible experience I have had with IVF South Florida. "Factory atmosphere" is the best way I can describe how their operation is run. Even with a scheduled appointment wait time is at least 45 minutes and sometimes over 90 minutes. Staff are not helpful, you hardly ever get a live person when calling any one of their facilities and questions are answered rudely. Many times my chart was put in the wrong que and after waiting over an hour I found out I was in the wrong line for the wrong test. There is absolutely no personal attention. How could there be when it is all about generating numbers for this facility. Dr Keegan always seemed rushed when I did see her, never up to date on my chart, arrogant, short and rude in her answers if you dared ask any questions. You never knew what the next step was and left feeling like a number and was never treated like a human being. No true patient care or concern for the well being of me as a patient was shown. Seek other care, I did after wasting 3 years of my life with IVF South Florida.
I went to Boca Fertility and Dr Peress and staff are everything IVF South Florida is not. I got pregnant on my first try with Dr Peress. Currently 8 months pregnant and no complications whatsoever.
