Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Anyone else not given their 20 month old a pillow yet?

I am hesitant to give ds a pillow because he is a constant roller and I always find him at the opposite side of the crib from when he was put down when I check on him at night.  Where do they have toddler pillows if you have given your lo a pillow already?  I haven't seen toddler pillows at Target but I may be looking in the wrong section.

  • We havent done a pillow for the same reason...he is all over the place.  I plan on doing a pillow soon though to get him ready for a big boy bed.

I think they have toddler pillows at PBK.  I think I am just going to give him a regular one though.

  • Target has a toddler pillow online... I saw because I was building a little registry for baby #2, to help me remember what I need.

No pillow here yet either. She's got plenty of crap in there, and I think she'd love a pillow because when she is hanging on our bed she flops onto them constantly

  • DS will be 2 on friday.  He doesn't have a pillow, I don't plan on giving him one any time soon.  He sleeps just fine w/o it.  He's in his toddler bed now.  I don't know when I will give him a pillow.

  • I gave DD a pillow at 15 months. She had been used to using one in our bed when she co-slept in the early morning. So when I transitioned her to her crib she would only do it with a full sized pillow. She is a little monkey so I wasn't worried about her suffocating. If anything is wrong in the middle of the night that kid is standing and screaming so I just don't worry with her. She has slept really well ever since I gave it to her. It is a full size pillow too with this super cute PBK embroidered sham with her name on it. Sometimes I find her like on her belly hugging the pillow with her whole body on it. She must really like squishy for sleeping.
  • DD has used a pillow for some time now, we also transitioned her out of her crib... she loves it :)  I guess I assume she does, but everymorning she comes walking out of her room with her blankie, pillow & baby.

Judah takes his pillow out of his crib and will put it on the floor and lay on it wherever it falls. lol.

His is an Elmo pillow so it is also a lovey of sorts.

  • We just gave DS a pillow last week..I ordered one from pbk and it is small only 12x16 inches so I am not worried about the suffocation factor...
  • I haven't. I don't think he'd be interested. He sleeps face down with his butt in the air, I don't think he really needs a pillow. And he moves all over the crib, so it really wouldn't do him any good.

Lol DD does that with my living room pillows too. It is super cute. Our kids just like luxury ;)

  • We got this one from One Step Ahead with a personalized pillow case just recently for DS. I wouldn't really recommend it though. It is much smaller than I thought it would be, and DS doesn't even use it. If he does choose to lay his head on something, it is one of his stuffed animals. :)

  • DS doesn't care for a pillow. We've tried. :)

  • We have an Ikea toddler pillow in there. In terms of safety issues, it's no different than some of the larger stuffed animals he has in there and tosses around anyway. I just like giving him some soft squishy options to cuddle next to when he's sleeping.
