endometrin vs progestrone in oil shots

Hey Ladies-

I am going to begin my second IVM in March.  My RE's office just put in the prescription for all the meds.  I noticed this time that instead of the progestrone in oil shots (which I used with the last IVM) they substituted endometrin.  Anyone have any experience with this?  Do you know if this is more effective than the shots?  The reason I ask is because we used the shots last time and were successful so I'm wondering why we wouldn't just keep it the same?

Also the shots are a little cheaper and we are paying out of pocket.

    Endometrin is just different, not better. They probably gave them to you just because some patients prefer them over shots. (I do not.). I'm sure if you want PIO, you can ask and they will switch you. GL!

    I don't think they are any different. I prefer the shot. You get it all over at once.

    You could always be REALLY lucky like me and have to do both; PIO in the AM and endometrin 3x day.

    Endometrin is just as effective as PIO and it is not an injection, so some people prefer it to PIO. I would just ask your RE to switch you to PIO, my RE had no problems with that.

    There is no proof that one is better than the other.  But, if you are comfortable with PIO I would stick with this.

    The endometrin is messy and I hate it.
