Ideas for recycling cards?

See my post below about DH's shower... Now we have a stack of greeting cards and we'll get more when I have my family shower. I thought about stringing them on ribbon and using them as a border in the nursery, but I'm not sure I'm jazzed about the idea.

I know you crafty ladies must have a good solution!

Re: Ideas for recycling cards?

  • My best friend's grandmother uses them as postcards if they haven't been written on the back.  You give her a Christmas card, she uses the same card to send you a thank you postcard for the gift.

I have framed a couple that DD has received and put them in her room because they are so pretty.

  • i used ours for scrapbooking.
  • I cut the back off and mount it on folded cardstock, making a new card out of it. I use my cricut machine to make words for the inside (eg Happy Birthday, etc) but could do with a marker to! I have a bunch of envelopes of different sizes I picked up here nad there that I put them in and reuse them as cards. Works great on holiday cards as well. The biggest plus? I never have to buy greeting cards again! The special ones (from grandma, etc.) I save in a drawer...
