Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Has anyone taken LO to Hershey Park?

Is a 15 month old too young to enjoy?  Any other ideas?

Re: Has anyone taken LO to Hershey Park?

  • I haven't taken the kids but I remember from when I used to go that it is a very expansive and hilly park.  Much more than the other parks I've been to (and I'm kind of a rollercoaster junkie, so we've been to many).

Sesame Place (sesame street themed park for young children) is near there.

  • I haven't been with DS, but we were going every year with our good friends who have a little girl.  We went when she was 2 and when she was 3.  It didn't seem like there was a ton to keep her attention.  Maybe it is better when you go in the summer and the water part is open?  He works for a company that has an employee day in April.

  • It's about 20 minutes from my house.  There are a good amount of kiddie rides available, and they've recently added a waterpark as part of the park.  Also, they have a zoo (ZooAmerica) which is a good size for a toddler that age.  I think it would be a really good time.  And yes, there are several hills, but if you bring a stroller, I don't think it's a big deal.  You can also do a dual admission plan and go to Dutch Wonderland, which is geared for kids (that's about 1/2 hour from Hersheypark).

Sesame Place is over an hour and a half from Hersheypark.  ETA: Sorry, just noticed you're from Phila, so you're well aware of where Sesame Place is :)

  • We haven't taken him to the theme park, although we will be going this summer. We have taken him to Chocolate World and he had a blast.

He's been to Kennywood, DelGroso's, Lakemont, Sesame, Knoebel's and Dutch Wonderland, though, if you're looking for any other PA parks.

  • I think Hershey Park would be fine.  You wouldn't be able to go on many rides (with LO at least) but there is lots to look at.  There is even Chocolate World!

And Folan- Sesame Place is about 2 hours from Hershey Park.

    Ick.  That's a haul.
  • I grew up there, and just moved back (I can technically see the park from my front porch!) but didn't take Lyla at all last year. This summer, we'll probably get season passes just because it's fun to wander through on weekdays (when crowds are minimal) and maybe ride a few rides. At this age, I think she'd enjoy all the people and activity more than the rides though, and it's a very laidback, clean, family-friendly place... great for people-watching and just hanging out.
