I saw your post earlier about dosage. I just got my instructions for starting tonight and I'm doing 3 days of 150 units. is this a lot?

I know it's different for everyone . . .

Re: *islelily* (and/or other gonal f takers)

  • It is based on your hormone levels.  I think we are about the same age, right?  (I will be 35 in Sept.)  Usually "younger" people with better eggs (than me) will have 75 mL.  I am on the 150 mL of Gonal-F.  I don't think you have anything to worry about.

you are a young'un! just kidding I'm 35 (36 in May, sheesh). Gotcha. I wasn't really worried, but just I guess learning. . . I'm sure there will be 10000 more dumb questions to come now that this is starting.

  • Last cycle I did 5 days of 150, and then 4 days of 225, and it was determined by my E2 (estriadol) levels.  This cycle, I started out at 225 and have more bloodwork tomorrow to see if I need to move up.  From what I've heard from my RE, the older you are (or the heavier you are, like myself) the more medication you may need because your response is often lowered.

  • Sorry I'm so late on this!

    Last cycle I started at 75 units of gonal-f (I'm 27).

This cycle I'm at 112 units and have had much better response. I think they may start at a certain level for age, and then increase depending on response.
