Trouble TTC

? About midcycle ultrasounds (post & run)

Hey guys, sorry it's a post and run. But I'll be back in about an hour or so.

I was just wondering for those of you who are being monitored via ultrasound midcycle, are those considered diagnostic for your Dr. or as an IF treatment?

We have full diagnoses coverage, but I'm being billed for the ultrasound that was checking my follies.

I'm new at this part of the TTC journey, so this may be normal, but I just wanted to double check.

Thanks ladies!

Re: ? About midcycle ultrasounds (post & run)

  • For me, as long as it's not during an IUI cycle, it's considered diagnostic. Anything during the IUI cycle that is for the purpose of the IUI is not covered.

  • I had mid cycle u/s for my clomid cycles, as well as last month's follistim cycle, and I haven't been billed for any of them yet (& hopefully the same will happen for next months IUI monitoring).

My insurance covers only diagnostic, but apparently they don't charge for the u/s'.

  • Thanks for the input guys. :) I appreciate it.
