Babies on the Brain

Wake a sleeping baby?

So B usually takes a 2 hour nap in the morning and another 2 hour nap in the afternoon.

My sister (who watches her) said her am nap was almost 3 hours. Now, she is still asleep. She went down at 3pm and its almost 6! DH and I just went into her room, turned the light on to peek at her and she's curled up sleeping soundly.

So - Do I wake her up in hear of her staying up all night? Or assume she needs the sleep and let her wake up when she's ready?

Re: Wake a sleeping baby?

  • I wake mine so that she's up for a while before going to bed for the night.  That usually means she STTN better for us.

  • I would usually say dont wake a sleeping baby, but in the evening its a different story for me. I usually want him to be awake at least 1.5-2 hrs before I want him to go to bed again, so once it gets to about 630 I wake him up if he's been napping a while. He goes to bed about 8.
