level II u/s results kind of sucked

We had our level II u/s this morning.  It's very clearly a little boy. :)  He is measuring on track for the most part, and appears to be in perfect health except for his heart.  We don't know anything for certain, and we won't until we have a fetal echocardiogram done at a hospital 2 hours away (where K had her surgery, in fact.)  The u/s tech, who was also an M.D, said 9/10 when she sends someone for a fetal echo it turns out to be nothing, but that this little guy's heart may be lying on a horizontal axis, and that he may have a small VSD (K's surgery was for a large VSD).  As many people know, VSDs are the most common birth defects.  She admitted it could very well be due to the fact that we couldn't prod him into a good position to look at the heart and that the machine isn't a very good one.  So we're trying to stay positive.  This wasn't supposed to happen again, I'm just devastated.  This baby was supposed to have a 2-4% chance of having heart defects.  I tried so hard to not start sobbing right there, but I failed.

The good news is, he's measuring almost right on track, and my quad screen results were literally the best possible :1/10,000 chance for Down syndrome and the 2 trisomy disorders they check for, and the lowest possible chance for spina bifida as well.

If you're the praying type, please keep our son in your thoughts and prayers.  I'm waiting for the echo people to call me back, but the fetal echo should be on Friday or Tuesday.  Thanks.
