  • I only keep special cards that DD or I recieve. Like, I am keeping the V-day card she and DH got me because it has a voice recording of DD saying "Happy Valentine's Day" in it. I keep ones that DD recieves if there was a special message inside or something. I keep mine in my "mom box" and I keep DD's in her keepsake box (where I keep pictures she makes at school, her first haircut strands, etc.)
  • I only kept our wedding and engagement cards as well as 1st anniversary cards.

For the kids I have only kept 1sts....first birthday, christmas, vday, hallowee, etc.

I bought some of those photo storage boxes that you see at Michaels and keep them all in there

  • I only have kept a few cards. They' just in a stack in my nightstand.

  • When I was in college, one of my best friends was killed.  I rounded up every note and card she had sent me and was so glad I had something to remind me of her.   As a result, I refused to throw away any card from anyone.  It got a little out of control with the amount of stuff so I went through my boxes of cards.  I asked myself- would I be glad to have this if the person who gave it to me passed away.  I kept whatever meant something and tossed the rest.  When my dad died 2 1/2 years ago, I had tons of cards and letters from him- I can't begin to tell you how happy I was to have them.

I store them in photo boxes- they don't take up much room- I only have about 3 now.  The cards and letters from my dad and my friend went into journals I made of my memories and stories of them.

3 IUI's and 2 IVF's later- Brady arrived. Born at 36 weeks after PUPPS and pre-e/HELLP.
IUI- BFN IVF #1 -BFP! Allie is our 2nd IVF baby. Born at 36 1/2 weeks after pre-e again

  • I keep those between DH and I in a box.  All the others I keep in manila evelopes by "holiday"  in my art supplies area so when they are doing art projects they can cut out and use the theme-related card pics or so they can make their own cards down the road.

  • I have our wedding and engagement cards, and I have cards from Isaiah's adoption, and his Baptism.  I have some cute card boxes that I store them in.
  • I don't keep cards for me unless there's something important written inside.

I have kept only the cards with important messages for the girls.  I bought Ruari a 'treasure chest' box at Joann's where I am going to keep all her important stuff (I saw it on Oprah a while back).  I now need to get Maggie a similar box (which may take a while, as we don't have Joann's here in Canada, and Maggie doesn't have her passport yet...).

  • 1. Yes.

    2. Yes.

    3. I keep them in memory boxes, with the idea that one day I'll find the time to put them in a scrapbook. So far that hasn't happened yet!

If I kept everything, there would be boxes and boxes and boxes by now.  Unless something extremely sweet or personal is written inside, I trash everything after a few weeks.  The few I do keep are stored in shoeboxes.

  • Yes and yes.

I have no idea why.  Mine are in a drawer and DS's are in a stack on top of the bookcase in his room.  I need to throw a lot of them away.  I don't plan on doing anything with them.  I'm just too darn sentimental and need to let go.  lol.
