I gave DD an egg to eat. it was well cooked. Her mouth started to get really red blotches ao i took the egg away. The next morning she had a sunburn looking rash all across her body.
the same thing happend when she had a few bites of tunafish and our pedi said that it was most likely an allergy and to stay away from it for awhile.
DD eats alot of pancakes and waffles which has eggs in it. But she has never had a probelm with it.
Is it normal to have a reaction to something whole but when its used in cooking be ok with?
Re: ? about allergies!!
Yes, its normal to be more allergic to straight egg than egg baked into something. I would still have a blood test to get a RAST number (score of the extent of the allergy), so you know if you should avoid eggs altogether.
My DS has a severe egg allergy, but it didn't show up until the 3rd time we gave him eggs.
Ditto the blood testing. We just had DS tested and he tested moderately to severely allergic to different things we have been feeding him in small doses. The pedi recommended the moderate things only when they are in stuff and avoiding the severe things altogether.
