Recommend your convertible car seat & do you have 2 or 4?

We have 2 car seats already which we registered for because when in the store, they showed us "how easy" they are to take out and move to another car...  But, more and more, I'm thinking we may need 2 more for hubby for when the daycare drop offs begin, if we're going to be taking turns...

How many do you have and does it work logistically?  And what do you recommend?  We currently have 2 Evenflo Symphony 65 - Liberty.

  • Right now we have two convertible seats in my husband's car and we're still using the infant seats in my car.  But they're outgrowing the infant seats and we'll be getting two more convertible seats (for my car) really soon.

My husband does the drop-offs and I do the pick-ups.  So we each need a set of car seats.  It's not optional for us.

  • We have the First Years True Fit convertible car seats. We've been pretty happy with them (and Baby Bargains gives them an A; higher even than some of the more expensive Britax seats!). We only have one set, but I SAH so while a second set would be handy at times, we wouldn't need them nearly enough to justify the expense.

  • I just went out this weekend and bought two more car seats for my DH's car.  I do most of the drop offs and pick ups but figured it would be a good idea for him to have them.  I have the britax in my car and just bought the evenflow triumph advance for DH's car.

  • we have britax in my car for all 3... in DH's car we got the Cosco scerena (sp?) which are good b/c they are cheap, have good safety ratings, and are pretty thin so fit 3 across in his Ford Escape.

I would not want to have to remember to take the seat in/out of my car... i think it's worth the money to get 2 more, even if you hardly ever use them (like we hardly ever do in DH's car).

we have graco comfortsports for my mom and sister's car - each have 1... from when we only had Griffin.  Hopefully they won't ever need to drive the twins anywhere- but at least they have one seat avail if needed in an emergency for one of the babies.

  • We haven't used ours yet, but we have 2 Britax Marathons and 2 Recaro Comos.  Both get great ratings in Baby Bargains.  Since MH will drop the kids off at daycare and I will pick up, we needed 4 seats.  There's no way we'll be shuffling 2 seats around every day.

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

  • We do most of the transport in our minivan, but we have a second set for our backup car just in case.  In the van, we have Britax Boulevards (well, we have one since my other DD is still in her infant seat) and we got the Cosco Sceneras for the backup car since they were well-rated and only $45 a piece at Walmart.

  • Britax makes great seats.  They will definitely last you the entire time you need them (usually birth to age 5).  My triplets aren't born yet, but each of my kids has 2 of each car seat.  DD is in a Chicco Key Fit 30 right now, but she'll be moved to a Britax Marathon.  If you have a small car, I'd recommend a Britax Roundabout or Diplomat.  The Roundabout is a compact version of the Marathon and the Diplomat is the compact version of the Boulevard.
