I think Baby A is trying to come out...

I swear to God, this boy is so low down, he is literally knocking on my vagina like he wants out.  Argh, so uncomfortable!   And his brother is up against my lungs...can't....breathe...   I am 24 weeks pregnant, and 5'2"...where are these children going to go?!?!?  I'm seriously starting to get scared...

Re: I think Baby A is trying to come out...

  • Not that I'm GLAD to hear you say this, but I'm in the SAME position (baby a super low down and baby b super high up) and I keep asking myself the same question. ?How can I make it??? ?I'm 5'2" also...please let our bodies perform miracles!!!

  • You sound like you're built like me...they'll push your belly out MUCH farther...trust me!

Hang in there and I hope they shift and give you at least  a little break soon!

  • Out. I'm 5'2" also and I think at 33 weeks I was measuring 52 inches around.

  • I think that after mine realized (if babies can do that, lol) that they couldn't go up or down anymore, they started going out more. :)

  • I posted about this awhile back too!

Baby A it tickling his way out- I feel movement below my undie line and Baby B is pushing my breast bone out...

I'm 5'4" and have certainly seen my belly moving outwards lately!

  • I felt the same way with my Baby A.  She was soooo far down low, it hurt!  I could feel her head againsit my pelvic bone.  Baby B was higher and up under my ribs.  I am tall, though, (5'11") so I never popped out very far because they had room length-wise, but man, it was uncomfortable!

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

  • As others have said -- they go out. Unfortunately, that doesn't make things any more comfortable. I still can't breathe, and now I have the added discomfort of a truly massive belly. (I'm also 5'2".) 25 days to go until my c-section, and it feels like an eternity ...
  • I've got one low and one high too BUT I've got 2" on the OP. lol

There really is nowhere else for these kids to go and I swear, my tummy is gravity defying. I just keep going out and out and out.

  • Oh girl, I had the SAME problem, though not quite as early as you did! FWIW, I would find that my pregnancy discomfort tended to worsen and then plateau--almost like my body adjusted and it was a little better again for a few weeks. Hopefully that will happen for you! (I'm 5'7" but have a short torso.)

  • OMG, I so badly wish I could go back to 24 weeks, those were the good ol' days.  I'm 5' (well, 5'1" on a good day) and now, at 32 weeks, I can barely walk from the couch to the bathroom.  These babies have pushed my stomach out so much that I think it may rupture soon.  At this point, I just wish they would go to the sides a little, spread the love.  Enjoy the 24 week mark, seriously....it really doesn't get better until they come out.

  • um, i would call your doctor.  not to scare you, but when i went into PTL i had very mild cramping and it felt like baby a was literally kicking my cervix.

lo and behold he was, b/c his feet were eventually coming out before my c-section.  now i advise everyone to call their doctor if they are the least bit concerned.  that's what they are there for; you know if something is wrong.

and if nothing is wrong, it's better to be safe than sorry.

i hope it's nothing and that you feel better soon.

  • I remember feeling the same way!  I had a really hard time with the tough to breath thing.  Do you have a recliner?  It was my BFF.

  • they'll find a way to strecth it out in there :)

I always felt that way with baby A...and eventually he did just pop out, breaking the water at 36w3d.

So stay put little one!!! Keep on baking mama!

  • I also have one really low (she was sitting on my cervix at my u/s on friday) and one really high (it killed when the had to dig the u/s wand in my ribs to get him).  I am 5'8 so its not too uncomfortable yet, but it is getting hard to breathe.

  • my baby A has been trying to punch her way out all weekend! I'm definitely going to ask the doc about it at my next appt. My cervix doesn't need any more help getting dilated!

and I agree with the pp who said that the symptoms plateau and you adjust. Now I don't notice the trouble breathing nearly as much as I did a couple of weeks ago.

    hang in there!

I am the same way. My girl feels like shes falling out sometimes, and my boy has his whole body under my ribs.

Just when you THINK "I can't possibly get any bigger!"...you do. I've started growing outwards more in the past month. I am growing to the sides now and growing straight out as well. I can tell because manuevering around things, my belly hits them more than it used to.

    No worries!

  • I ditto the previous posters on "out"....I'm 4'10'' and made it to 36w0d with our twins.  Granted, they were small for GA (4 lbs 9 oz and 4 lbs 2 oz) but still....the tummy went OUT!
After 20 months TTC with PCOS, we were blessed with twins!

  • Just wanted to say... this brings back some memories lol. I do remember waking up a few nights thinking, omg child! Where do you think you're going. It can be scary, but I'm pretty sure it's normal. And, like everything else, it will pass! Best of luck to you.
