Hi Ladies,
first of all...my heart goes out to all of you. This board is truly amazing.
Well I just experienced a very early loss, not sure if it's a c/p or not because I had pos. HPTs for almost a week as well as a pos. blood test on Thursday .
I started bleeding Friday night after my temp had dropped by almost a whole degree. It's been like a pretty heavy period, some small clots, not too bad. The cramps haven't been bad either except that yesterday I started having pretty severe pain in my left side (I know this is the side I O'ed from). It isn't making me double over or black out (I would have gone to the ER in that case) but it is bad enough to make me cringe--a lot. It hurts with every step I take.
I was just wondering if anyone else with an early loss has felt that way. I suspect it may be a corpus luteum cyst that possibly could have ruptured? I had a big one early on with DS but it resolved as they usually do.
Not asking whether I should go to the doc or not (I'll try to get in tomorrow) but just wondering if someone has experienced similar pain and what it ended up being. I am fairly certain it's not ectopic because I was only 4w2d when the bleeding started.
Thank you so much for your input.
Re: Very early m/c and side pain?
I just went through an early m/c and I had stabbing pain on my right side from about 5dpo until the m/c. Actually, I felt a really painful "pop" on that side right before going to the bathroom to find I'd started bleeding.
My bleeding was much as you describe, and now that it's gone, so is the pain. I suspect it was a corpus luteum cyst as well. I'd say go back in for another hcg draw. If it's gone down, that coupled with the bleeding can pretty definitely show it's not ectopic, and that's the only concern my doctor had when I told her about my side pain.
I am so sorry for your loss. I had some pretty intense pain on my right side while having my m/c. I hope you find answers soon.
P.S. Corpus is our home away from home! DH is actually going down this week!
The pain I had was pretty much exactly as how you described. I had right sided pain, that took my breath away but that wasn't bad enough to double over or go to the hospital. I was just under six weeks when I m/c and it was natural. When I went to the dr. he did an ultrasound, took my blood and basically told me to wait it out and see if I miscarried which I did four days later, naturally.
I really hope that this is not the case for you. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
