If so, what kind and how are they prepared? I don't eat beans, besides green beans, and I want to expose DD to foods so she isn't as picky as I am. Plus, I worry she isn't getting as much protein as she should be.
Kian LOVES chickpeas, not beans per sea but really high in protein, we usually cook them with pasta sauce and he picks through it to eat all the chickpeas first.
He will also eat kidney beans in chillis etc and edamame's just steamed with some olive oil.
DD absolutely loves black beans, white beans and kidney beans, and she also likes chick peas (garbanzo beans), all of which are a great source of protein and fiber.
You could also try lentils. DD really likes those as well.
She loves to eat beans and rice with some melted cheese on top. She will pick kidney or white beans out of chilis and lentils out of soups. I make hummus out of chick peas and she absolutely loves that.
Here is a website that I like to get recipes from - it has a ton of kid friendly ones.
Yes! My son's obsessed with black beans. He also eats navy beans, white beans, garbonzo beans. We just buy them in the can and rinse well. They keep well in the fridge for a bit.
