Babies: 9 - 12 Months

if you had a packnplay with a napper on top

how long did you use it for? Did baby like it? Also, how was the transition to a regular crib or flat surface? Thanks!

  • DS would lie in the napper to play, but he wouldn't sleep in it. I think it just wasn't comfortable for him.

  • Logan didn't sleep in it very long maybe 4 weeks or so. I thought he would love it and he did in the beginning when he was all curled up but as soon as he wanted to stretch out he wasn't comfortable. We took the napper part out and used the bassinet for a while before moving him to the crib, we had no trouble with the transition.

  • DD loved hers.  We had a horrible time getting her to sleep in the crib, though.  She slept in either the napper, the bouncer, or next to me till around 3 months.
  • We didn't use it at all. We just put him in the bassinet.
  • We used ours all the time - until DS got too big for it - maybe about 2 months.

This! He would only sleep in the napper- until it stopped vibrating and playing music-then he would wake up. I really wish there was a way to plug the napper in so the music and vibrating could be on continuously instead of on a timer!

  • We used it all the time (mostly at Grandma & Grandpa's) but he could only sleep with it up until 15lbs (around 4 months).
  • We used the bassinet until 2 months when he outgrew it (weight limit of 15lbs).

ETA:  He did great in his crib the first night.  The transition for him was a new room.  I had to make the room really dark for him.

Same for us. She slept in it for probably 2-3 months at night, then a few weeks in the bassinet we moved the crib into our room (we only have a 2 bedroom place and MIL moved in, so DD is still with us).

  • LO loved it, he slept in it from the day he came home from the hospital until he outgrew it (15 lbs-3 months or so).  Then we moved him to the bassinette part and he slept in that until he also outgrew it (around 6 months for him), then we moved him to a crib.  The transition from Napper to Bassinette was nothing, but Bassinette to crib took a couple weeks.
