We're going on vacation Monday (Yay!!!) and I plan on bringing some expressed milk and also my pump. Does anyone have any experience with this? Do I have to put it all through the x ray machine? This might be stupid, but does that damage it (the milk or the pump) at all? Any advice is greatly appreciated

TIA!
Re: Q about flying with breastmilk and a breast pump
I've been thru about 6 screenings/different airports and had each of these (traveled without baby):
1) brought ice paks and pump thru security, no milk--> had carryon and pump swabbed and cooler swabbed and thoroughly inspected.
2) had about 40oz milk in born free bottles and was asked to open one where they put a test strip above it for a minute then put a few drops of liquid on the test strip. Passed the test on 1 of 6 bottles and was let thru.
3) had 130oz mostly frozen milk, all got hand inspected and cooler bag swabbed.
4) had 90oz frozen, swabbed, and then had thorough pat down due to milk being frozen and unable to test.
I've always declared it before going thru screening and said "this is my breastmilk" and handed over the cooler. I have had it unzipped and opened before I got to the special screening area and I'm told that they should wait to open it until you are thru the xray.
I've packed ice paks with it too.
