So I tried digging the toenail out.

I couldn't even find the end of it! That's how ingrown it is! EEK! The infection is going away, but it's still very painful.

    I had that once- the doctor ended up cutting away my toe to get to the nail... so gross... sorry, wouldn't wish it on someone.

    Ouch! Glad the infection is going away though.

    I have to get part of the nail removed in a few months. I get infected ingrown toenails all the freaking time.

    I had my nail beds on the sides of my big toes removed from chronic ingrown toe nails. My skin grew over the sides and you would never, ever know but it took about 1 year for the skin to grow over the sides. I highly rec it as I NEVER get ingrown (because I can't). You actually are taken into surgery for it but not knocked out! GL
