Did you use a special swaddling blanket? There was some discussion some weeks back about this topic and there were recommendations on specific brands etc. I of course did not save it.
Any recs? I want to start doing some research.

I only swaddled for a week and DD hated it. She also had jaundice and had to be under belliblankets for lights so swaddling wasn't really an option and after the lights. She cried and cried in a swaddle blanket.
There is also swaddleme but I have heard it is pretty complicated and doesn't hold very well.
I swaddled DS from 1 to 4 months. I liked the Aden + Anais blankets (https://www.adenandanais.com) the best. They are soft and large, and you can fold them easily and adjust as baby grows.
I swaddled both boys until they were six months! They hated it in the beginning but quickly got use to it and slept throught the night very very earyl on, I swear it's because I swaddled.
and they were awesome awesome awesome. I hated the swaddle thingies (like the wombie and others) because they allow for stretching and you do NOT want anything to move once you swaddle your child.
Thanks to these blankets I was able to swaddle to for 6 months (my boys were big 20lbs and 24lbs at 6 months).
We swaddled DD. I loved the Halo sleep sack with swaddling wings...our hospital actually gave it to us when we left. Though I really want to try a woombie this time!

These were our favs, too. They're the biggest ones out there, so you can swaddle for a longer period of time and it's more difficult for LO to break out of the swaddle. Plus, they're really lightweight. We plan to use them again this time around.
we used the hospital blankets the first week. Then started to use the swaddleme and hated it. its too stretchy and DS got out and would wake up. I then bought the miracle blanket--its good, but its a pain to change diapers in. I got the halo sleepsack with swaddle and he loved it. He liked to kick but have his arms in. So that worked until about 4 months.
I have a adan and anais blanket that I bought later--not for swaddling, and I think that would work great--esp for a summer baby--its lightweight. Its just a matter of trail and error really.

We just used regular blankets and receiving blankets for DS and they worked the best for us. I tired some of the swaddle sack things and he just got all tangled and it made for more of a hassle when changing his diap at night.

We used the SwaddleMe blankets w/DD and they worked like a charm. She slept so well and didn't mind it at all.
