I delivered my two beautiful girls on February 9. Since then, I've been a little busy and I'm just now getting around to posting. They were born at 11:10 and 11:11 pm, at 34 weeks and 2 days, and their names are Chiara Ann and Siena Kathleen. They are doing well, but have been in the NICU for 10 days. Hopefully Chiara will be coming home early next week, and Siena may follow a week or two later. We can't wait! I'll post pics as soon as I figure it out.
I was hoping to keep them in a few weeks more, and had been in the antepartum unit for a few weeks. But, on that evening, during my monitoring, their heartrates dropped down to the 80's. I was scared to say the least, but luckily my mom was in my room visiting, and she helped me stay calm as they wheeled me down to L&D. She called everyone, including my husband, who rushed to the hospital in time to meet me in the OR. By the time we got to L&D, the heartrates were back up to normal, but because we had had some dips in the past few days that just didn't last as long, my specialist wanted to go ahead and deliver. It was an automatic c-section because twin A was breech and they didn't want to stress their hearts any more. I was terrified of having a c-section, but it actually was not nearly as bad as I had feared. The epidural didn't really hurt at all, and I had no pain until I got up the next morning to walk around. Recovery has been a little difficult, but about a week later, I had no pain at all.
I just want to thank everybody who has posted here. Even though I didn't post much, everything I read was very helpful. I'll definitely be back on when I can!
