I just came back from BRU and learned something interesting and new. We bought the Chicco KeyFit30 and the Graco SnugRider. We didn't want to get the travel system due to lack of space in our car. When we were registering at BRU, we were told to get the Graco SnugRider because the Chicco KeyFit 30 will only fit the SnugRider. Well, today I was told by BRU today that we should have bought the Baby Trend Snap N Go Stroller instead of the Graco SnugRider Infant car frame because the Baby Trend has Chicco KeyFit 30 infant carrier listed as a compatible use. It actually has a safety belt that snaps the infant carrier to the stroller frame for a secured fit where as the Graco SnugRider does not offer this. If you have the Graco SnugRider, the KeyFit 30 infant carrier just sits on the frame without any secured lock. We are going tonight to make the exchange. Anyway, this is just a FYI in case you didn't know.
Re: PSA repost from 3rd tri re: Chicco KeyFit 30 and Graco SnugRider
We bought kolcraft contours options 3 wheeler stroller and it has a infant carrier adapter. Our Keyfit 30 fits in it perfectly.
The reason a Chicco KeyFit 30 won't fit in the Snugrider frame is because the Snugrider is Graco and ONLY fits Graco car seats.
The Baby Trend Snap-n-Go will accept pretty much ANY infant car seat.
And as a FYI to you all: My DS is only 6 months old but was a BIG baby. He's almost outgrown the Chicco KeyFit 30. NOT the weight limit (which is 30 lb) but the HEIGHT. DS is 27.5 inches long and the height max for the car seat is 30 inches.
If you have a bigger baby, like I did, expect to move your LO to a convertible car seat around 6 months.
