Georgia Babies

recommend your OB/GYN

I would like to deliver at northside hospital, mainly because our first baby spent time in the nicu.  I was not happy with the hospital I delivered at and so I need your recommendations?  I need to find a good OB that delivers at Northside.  Thanks

Re: recommend your OB/GYN

  • Dr. Dawson at Atlanta Womens Specialists.  He's awesome!  It also doesn't hurt that he's one of the most gorgeous gay men in Atlanta!! :)  I love most of the doctors at the practice as well.  The really cool thing is that they have a website where you can access all of your medical info and email your doctors directly.  LOVE that!

  • Dr. Phoebe Sun at Women's Health Associates.  780 Johnson Ferry Road.  I can't say enough great things about her as both an OB and as a person.  Best doctor I have ever had.
  • Northside Women's Specialists
Dr. Soufi, OR Dr. Sun, OR Dr. Houston.
Most of my girlfriends are split between Soufi and Sun. It's just based on availability. Dr. Sun is my doctor.  Loooove her.  Dr. Houston is the one that delivered Millie.  Loooooove her too.  If you have a baby there, you will eventually meet all three.

Another vote for thsi practice, Dr Houston is my doctor.  When I went into labor though all three were off for the weekend and another doctor who was coveringfor them delivered SC, which didn't bother me as I had a planned csection, so it was fast.  This might bother some though.  I know 2 people married to obs and in smaller practices just about all have someone who they rotate in on weekends so you might want to ask if there is ever a chance of the delivering doctor be someone from outside the practice fi that concerns you.

  • I go to OB/Gyn of Atlanta and I am really happy with everyone I have met so far, which is Dr. Henke and Dr. Bassel and the staff is awesome. I believe they only deliver at Northside which is across the street from their Northside (Atlanta) office and they offices throughout the Northern suburbs as well.

  • Another vote for Dr. Dawson. I love him and he is very nice looking.:) I just saw him for my annual checkup and had Owen with me. He has such good bedside manner and is really easy to talk to. He was so cute talking with Owen.I also like most of the other doctors and love the PA's and nursing staff. And we had an awesome experience with Northside. Can't say ebough good things about our stay there.

These guys are awesome!  I never met a doctor that I didn't like. Dr. Bassil did my emergency c-section and he was amazing  (I had vasa previa and we didn't know it and when my water broke during induction I started to blood badly - he knew exactly what was going on and had Mikayla out within 13 minutes - he saved her life!)  I also loved Dr. Fairbrother.

  • I too love OBGYN of Atlanta.  I usually see Dr Frankin for my yearly visits but went with the midwives for my ob appts and delivery.  They are all so fantastic.  I had a miscarriage at 10 weeks the first time and they were so understanding with my need for reassurance on the second pregnancy.  I also was very impressed with the doctor that did my dnc after the miscarriage.  He bedside manner was wonderful for the circumstances.
