Success after IF

Clicky poll: Birth control

Even though it took us two rounds of IVF and almost 3 yrs to get pg, I started the pill today. I am so paranoid that there might be one really good sperm in the bunch and I will get KUed and have three under two.

So, it got me thinking about IF and birth control.....

Re: Clicky poll: Birth control

  • DH is deployed, so I am not on anything right now.  My plan for when he is home to get either Essure or an IUD.  While the likelihood of us getting a surprise BFP is slim to none, it is not a risk that I am willing to take.  Pregnancy was too difficult for me and my body.

  • Is having 101 days until our baby girl comes considered birth control?!
  • I chose Special Snowflake because I'm currently pregnant, so obviously not on birth control.  However, now that we've had a surprise BFP,  I most definitely will go on some sort of birth control after this baby is born.  I never thought I'd had to worry about birth control ever again.

  • I just told MH today that I want one more.  Luckily he was on board, so we'll just see what happens.  I doubt we'd do IVF again for another year plus though.

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

  • I had to chose SS because we are using the rhythm method to avoid pg BUT I don't consider it very effective and thus not a good form of BC. We are at the point where if I got pg we would be thrilled but we aren't ready to "try" again.
  • I should have chosen SS - I know that we won't get pg again w/o help (hello donor gametes!) but I still stubbornly hold out hope for a miracle. And, when I do get AF back, I'll probably loosely track my cycle and we will "TTC" (HAH!)

  • I really want to have a suprise BFP - but I highly doubt it.  It took 2 years and 5 IUIs the 1st time and that was BEFORE I lost 1/2 of my left ovary... owell, I girl can dream :)
  • I don't ovulate on my own (PCOS), but I have heard of hormones regulating pp, so I'm on the minipill.

However, I know two people who have gotten pregnant on the minipill (towards the end of BFing), so who knows.  :)
