Chicco keyfit owners

I have this car seat and I feel like it's so annoying to use, unless I'm doing something wrong? In order to open/close the hood you are supposed to detach it on the side, move up down and then reattach. Whereas the graco you can just pull up and down. Is this right or am I doing something wrong?

Re: Chicco keyfit owners

  • We used the KeyFit30 for 9 months and I don't have any idea what you're talking about--we never detached any parts of the awning at any time.

  • Loading the player...
  • I just pull our canopy up and down... maybe I'm doing it wrong...

  • We can pull ours up and down. It's a little bulky but fine other than that.
  • were you able to pull the awning all the way forward and back? the manual says you need to detach.

  • I'm not sure why you would have to do that.  Mine opens and closes without any detaching.  Maybe call customer service?
I don't know what's up with my siggy and I am too lazy to figure it out.
  • Ok I just played with it a bit more, I can now get he handle over the awning.

  • i only detached it to put the bundle me in, it can get bulky but if you manually pat it down you should be able to get the handle to go over it and back.

  • Yeah, you do need to detach the hood both to put the bundle me in and also if you want to bring the handle all the way back to stabilize the carrier when setting it on the ground. It is kind of annoying, but I just don't bring the handle all the way back to that position. I like the carrier, but I find the hood to be annoying because of this and also because it seems a bit small (if you pull it forward to shield baby, it pops off the back!)
