Strangely - for Sam it works great to help him GET to sleep, but in the 4 days we've been using it all night he's slept worse - only 2 hour bursts instead of 4-5. So tonight I am going to set the timer to shut off. Figures we'd be the weirdos for whom it doesn't work!

waterfall b/c it sounds like static and DD loves the vacuum & hair dryer so it is most like that. MH likes the rain sound so if he is in there w/ them sometimes he puts it on that instead lol.
Katen always liked rain. Ocean was too variable and the heartbeat creeps me out. We also could not use the projection because the light was too stimulating and kept her up.

I don't have one specifically for babies - just one that I must have gotten at some point in time and found when Alana was about a month old. Mine only stays on for an hour and then shuts itself off, which has been enough time for her to fall asleep. If she wakes up during the night and puts herself back to sleep, she does so without the machine. If she cries to eat (which only happens if she breaks out of the swaddle) we put it back on for her.

We always do rain, although the nanny likes using ocean.
I'm listening to the rain right now through the monitor.
