If you had cankles...

Did the swelling go down at night?  I remember mine got pretty swollen w/J toward the end (not quite this early) but they always were normal again in the morning.  While mine weren't quite so bad this morning, they are still pretty swollen.  Normal or no?  I took my bp and it is still good and am trying to drink lots of water...

Re: If you had cankles...

  • yes and no...they'd go down but towards the end I stayed swollen from about 32 weeks on.

Best thing you can do is lay w/ your feet elevated over your heart and put ice packs.  Foot/leg rubs are also definitely helpful.  Really watch your sodium and carb intake - consider going high protein to relieve swelling.

     Good luck girl.

  • Mine were never normal. :o( They would go down in the morning, but still looked like Fred Flinstone feet.
  • I have no advice.  As of today I'm in the same boat, unfortunately!  I'm sitting at my desk with my feet propped up on my computer right now with a big glass of water, though!
  • You poor thing, I'm sure your drive to/from the office doesn't help.  I had lots of issues with my feet swelling when I was taking supplemental hormones after an IF cycle and being in the car for an extended period of time ALWAYS made it worse.  :(

    This!

And Mrs B, I love the picture! She is so precious! I hope Madi is sitting that well next month!

  • I never had much swelling until the last week, but it should help if you keep your feet elevated above your heart.  You know, when you have NOTHING else to do when you get home at night ;)
  • Mine would go down a bit in the morning, but towards the end, about 36 weeks they seemed to stay that way all the time.  I drank tons of water, kept them elevated when possible, and Wes rubbed them for me lots (which was a double bonus lol).

  • I'm so sorry and dreading this myself.  My feet have spread a little, so I do keep them elevated at work and home.  However, my fingers are starting to get a tad swollen - my rings are now making dents in my finger.  I stopped sleeping with them on a little over a month ago. I hope your swelling goes away or slows down!
