if you some one is to say hey guys. And it is all girls. Or is you are out to eat with a girl friend and the server comes to the table and said with Hi Guys?
No. I've always said "you guys" when referring to a group of people. To me, it is the same as "y'all". But I've had people give me trouble about it - especially when I was in school.
I don't get upset or mad, but it annoys me. When I was a server it was drilled into our heads NOT to greet anyone that way, and it has stuck ever since. So now, I notice when others do it. I don't tip them any less or anythng like that, it is just a "irk-y" thing.
Re: Does it bother you

Yep.
Only when I'm with older ladies.
I hate it when The Momma & I are out to eat & some young waiter saunters up & says, "Hey, guys."

This is me. Although, when I'm mad I tend to call DH "dude" and he hates when I do that. I don't do it on purpose. It must be a subconscious thing.

Nope, guys and dudes doesn't bother me. But, it does annoy me when my boss sends out an email and starts it with
Gentlemen,
Um...hello...I'm not one of those. Yes, there are only two women who work here, but we still work here.
