South Jersey Babies

Good playgrounds for 7month + in South Jersey?

Hi South Jersey Mommas!  I cannot wait for Spring and to bring DS to a playground for the first time.  Does anyone love a public playground that is age appropriate for 7months old and older babies?

TIA

  • It's kinda a tough age.  What area's are you looking in?

I like Washington Township's Lake park.  The one playground set has a baby swing (a rarity) .  After the snow melts (!)  we are hoping to check out on suggested to us in Glassboro on the edge of Pitman that has more toddler/younger activities.

A few weeks ago DD and I went to an indoor play area that had a great space for crawler/little ones that we are going back too.

  • That's a really hard age to go to the playground at, but if you go at a time that wouldn't be too busy then your little one might be able to crawl around a bit. Also, I know both of our local playgrounds have the baby swings which are great. If not, baby will probably enjoy sitting on your lap while you swing and just being out in the fresh air.

  • I spend time mostly in Gloucester, Cumberland and Camden counties.   I am pretty close to Cape May, Atlantic and often go to Burlington county.  I get around a lot, that is why I said South Jersey area.

I know LO is small for  real playground action, but I am interested in swinging.  I've read swinging can be beneficial to development.  I am interested in a playground that has an infant swing and maybe a small slide.

I just hope the snow and rain end some day soon so we can get outside!

I live in Washington Twp so I'm partial to Washington Lake Park.  We've taken my niece & nephew there many times.  There are playgrounds for different ages (I think there are at least 3 different swing set locations) so you're bound to have some luck there!

  • Gloucester township park near camden county college has a playground for little ones that includes 3 baby swings and a smaller slide.  It's the one near the gazebo.  Bethel Mill (I think it's called James Atkinson now) park in Sewell also has a few baby swings, a little slide and a little exploring thing for crawlers/beginner walkers.  Veterans park on Chews landing Rd in laurel springs has really nice swings for a little one.
