2nd Trimester

When did you have to switch to maternity pants?

I'm 10 weeks now. Seeing pics of people with cute little bumps at 11 wks. Having to wear the band around my jeans to cover the fact that they're unbuttoned & unzipped. When did you all have to move on to maternity?

Re: When did you have to switch to maternity pants?

  • I am still wearing my regular pants with the bella band.

  • I can still wear some of my regular jeans.  A couple of them, I have to use an elastic.  I got some maternity jeans a few days ago though, because they were a really good price and damn they're comfy!
  • I think I was wearing maternity jeans around 15 weeks or so.  I could have worn the BeBand a bit longer but maternity pants were much more comfortable.

  • I'm wearing maternity pants for the first time today, at 17 weeks. I've gained quite a bit of weight, but my belly didn't get big until this week.

  • I think I started wearing all maternity pants around 14 weeks. I could have waited longer but the bella band was uncomfortable to me.
  • 16 weeks I started wearing mat jeans and 17 weeks was when my last pair of regular work pants would no longer button.

I tried the bella band but didn't like that it looked all lumpy under my fitted shirts due to the unbuttoned/zipped fly - works fine with thicker sweaters.

  • I bought maternity pants around 16 weeks, but didn't need them all the time until closer to 20 weeks.  I probably could have went a little longer with my work pants, but that bella band was so annoying.

  • I can still wear most of my regular pants (mostly low-rise jeans and khaki pants)...however the few maternity pants I do own are more comfortable

  • still wearing regular pants w/out a bella band...but I am needing to buy one this weekend becuase I can only wear 2 pairs of my jeans (they are low rise and they button fine!) and ALL of my dress pants are painful to button..

Thinking the bella bands should get me through for a while...I'm still not that big. Yesterday was the first day someone other than my husband or closest friends could even tell I was pregnant.

  • My dress pants are high-waisted, but still fit comfortably with the be band.  Can't zip them up at all though so I'm guessing that won't last very long.  My jeans I have had to start with maternity.  My jeans fall in a funny place and are really uncomfortable, even with the be band.  That happened around 20 weeks
  • I'm still wearing my prepregnancy jeans with my Bella band. I'm thinking within the next couple of weeks I might have to switch over to maternity jeans.
  • Ooh, and I wear a lot of leggings and tunics.  One advantage to not being allowed to work.
  • I'm still switching between regular pants and my bella band and the two pairs of maternity pants I have that I'm not swimming in.  I didn't start wearing the bella band until 20 weeks.
  • I started wearing the Be Band at around 10 - 12 weeks and then switched to full on maternity pants probably around 15-16.  They were just way more comfortable for me.  I probably could have squeezed in a few more weeks, but it was about comfort.  Its all maternity pants for me now...

  • at 10wks i was so bloated i didnt fit in regular pants but maternity pants made me look like a circus tent. I didnt discover the bellaband for a while so i was wearing longer shirts to cover up my unzipped pants. lol.
  • I still wear my regular pants with the beband, and bought my first few pairs of maternity pants last weekend.

  • I'm transitioning now, at 17 weeks.  I wore mat pants the past 2 days, but I'll still rotate in a regular pair.
  • I think I switched to maternity pants around 14-15 weeks, I just didn't want to squeeze into my clothes anymore when I could be so comfortable :) Once you go maternity pants it's hard to go back.
  • I hated the Be-Band so I switched to maternity pants around 10 weeks. They're still too big but soooo comfortable! I also have a few regular dresses that fit fine. I've only gained 2 lbs so it's weird!
  • I'm 23 weeks this weekend and still wearing my regular pants with a belly band. I carry a bit on the smaller side and maternity pants look really unattractive on me.

  • Today is my first day and I feel GREAT. I love letting it all hang out. I bought them last weekend. I was wearing an elastic band pair last week but my reg pants the week before that.
  • I made the switch at 14W. The bella band got annoying to me. I am so happy I made the switch..maternity pants are so much more comfortable.

  • I am still wearing my regular clothes, no bella band, no rubber band.  They zip fine.

I am almost 20 weeks (will be over the weekend).

  • With my first - 11 weeks

This one - not yet.. still huge on me. I  still have jeans I wear normally (my "fat" jeans) or I just use a Bella Band.

  • I think around 12 weeks. I didn't _have_ to, but I think my stomach was thanking me.

    This.

  • I am still in my regular pants, but they are starting to get a little tight so I bought a bella band and will probably try that out next week.  I still don't really have a bump, it just looks like I ate a little too much.
  • I'm still in my regular pants, totally buttoned. I haven't yet moved on to the bella band. I'm only up 3lbs this pg.  With my DD I'd already gained 18 lbs at the point and was nowhere near able to fit into my regular pants and skirts.
  • this week (17 weeks) its non-negotiatiable! The past few weeks the ponytail holder or going up a size worked, but now it's beBand or maternity pants. i dont quite fill them out yet, or the shirts, but regular clothes weren't comfortable so i thought it was time. So exciting!!!

  • I am 23 weeks & still wearing my pre-pregnancy jeans, or at least the low-rise ones. :] I went out and bought a few pairs of maternity jeans last weekend, but they are huge on me. I'll just have to grow into them I guess.
