I plan on breast feeding for the first three months before I go back to work, but will pump so my husband can share in the feedings and *hopefully* the transition to a full-time bottle won't be terrible when the three months is up. My question is, how many bottles and what sizes should I register for? And I know BF babies are picky about bottles so should I register for a few different brands? This is so confusing, please help!
Re: Question about bottles
I plan to also BF while at home and pump for when I return to work, and so DH can also help feed. I registered for 3 different kinds of bottles....Dr Browns, Avent, and Born Free (I think). I registered for a starter set for all 3 brands (2-3 bottles of each). None of these might work and I will have to try others, but based off the what I have read on here, and online consumer reviews, I felt these were a safe bet to start off with. HTH!

I really researched bottles. My baby isn't here yet, and I plan to EFF and I purchased all Dr. Browns bottles. I have heard great things about the Breastflow bottles for those that are going to BF and bottle feed, so you might check those out as well as get baby one of the Born Free.
It has also been recommended to me by several people including my sister who has 5 kiddos, not to bother with getting too many of the 4-5 oz sized bottles, because soon they will be in the 8-9 oz sized ones, so that's a way to save right there. I purchased 9 of the 8oz sized and 2 of the 4oz sized since we're EFF, figured that would cover the span of a 24 hour feeding period. And when LO goes to daycare eventually, I'll be taking at least 3-4 bottles for him there, so I want clean ones at home to use at night, etc.
No thoughts on specific brands but I would highly recommend having a handful of bottles ready to go (aka sterilized and ready to use).
My sister and a good girlfriend both had babies in the past few months. Both had planned to EBF but had their plans change suddenly. One baby wasn't latching on well so they've been struggling with feedings and the other isn't producing enough milk to EBF and has had to supplement with formula.
Both ladies have said they have about 4 bottles premade at a time (whether its formula or breastmilk or a couple bottles of each) - especially at night.
