6w3d. She said if they couldn't get a good view they would have to go to vaginal, but we saw out little smudge just fine, and were able to see the heartbeat as well.
With DD, I had one at 8 weeks...it was supposed to regular but they couldn't see enough, so they did vaginal. I think when they do one that early it ends up being the vaginal.
I have my first u/s in 40 min! Although, I'm not sure if it will be vaginal...probably because I'm only 11 wks. My first regular u/s will probably be at 18 weeks.
With my 1st one we had it at 19 weeks. Unfortunately, that's also when we found out the bad news. With this one they did one at 6w 5d which we were also diagnosed with a SCH. I'm beginning to really hate regular u/s.
Last time around I had a vaginal at 6w and a regular u/s at 10 weeks. I'm assuming that's how he it is doing it this time as well. I already had the vaginal and next appt is march so we shall see.
My first was 9 weeks 3 days.. They only did it to figure out how far along I was since I was on a bc that caused me to have a period only once every 3 months. But my next one will be around 18 to 20 weeks to find out the sex!
Re: How far along were you when you had your 1st u/s?
7w5d
But, I was at a Perinatologists (high risk specialist) office and they have super awesome u/s machines.
I have heard that they usually make the transition to abdominal around 11-12 weeks.
ETA: 7w5d was my first abdominal u/s. I had my first u/s at 4w5d.
20 weeks last time. Not sure about this time. I've had 3 vaginal U/S already.
6 weeks vaginal due to spotting
11 weeks external because the doctor couldn't find baby's heart beat with the doppler
Then, we will have a scheduled one for the anatomy scan at 18-20 weeks
