...please remind my pregnancy BRAIN that I am not supposed to eat meat. PLEASE! I will forget. The urge to eat something will take over and make me forget.
This is your mission...should you choose to accept it.
Oh...and HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!

Thanks for the reminder, Mel! Wish I could join you guys for lunch, but I have both kids to myself today and if I brought them both I would end up spending the whole time with them and not talking to anyone, so I'm skipping. Plus, honestly, with my new paycut, I'm limiting lunches out altogether. So I'll say it now: Don't Eat Meat!!
IMO pregnancy trumps lent, if you want meat, God will understand.
Ditto! Everyone was talking about what they were giving up for lent at work and I thought to myself, I'm already giving up sushi, cafe con leche, wine/champagne, most fish, brie/soft cheeses, etc. I actually don't eat red meat that much and now it's pretty much that or chicken.
Technically if you're over the age of 13, you're supposed to fast on Fridays, the no meat thing is for kids. So since i already know I'm not going to fast, I figure I may as well go for the meat. And, yes, i really wanted to post on facebook that I was giving up wine for Lent but I thought that would be too obvious!!!
Mel, pregnant woman are exempt from the "rules" of fasting and abstaining from meat. (I looked it up on Ash Wednesday ;-)
"Those who are excused from fast or abstinence Besides those outside the age limits, those of unsound mind, the sick, the frail, pregnant or nursing women according to need for meat or nourishment, manual laborers according to need, guests at a meal who cannot excuse themselves without giving great offense or causing enmity and other situations of moral or physical impossibility to observe the penitential discipline."
Canon law says that if you cannot abstain or fast that you should do some act of penance or charity.

I didn't even know it was Lent. LOL. I'm not giving anything up. OK, maybe buying shoes, I have been forbidding from wandering into Saks.
On a serious note, I had no idea it was Lent. Then again, I'm agnostic.
