You know that you have reached the second trimester "bliss" when you temporarily forget that you are pregnant!
I had a moment today when I was reading an email explaining that appetizers and wine would be served on the shuttle home from a meeting I need to attend, and I was thinking "well geez I don't want to be buzzed since I have to drive that night" (1.5 hours away)...
As I was driving home I realized what I'd been thinking and just started cracking up at myself out loud. Really- I won't be drinking that wine! Guess I forgot I was pg for a minute!
Bliss... or just pregnancy brain? ![]()
Have you had any moments like this?
Re: You know you're in 2nd Tri "bliss" when...
LOL- yeah, I work for a university and was invited to part of the spring Board of Trustees retreat- in Napa. Mind you Napa is all of 45 minutes away from my campus, but still, that is why we're being specially treated to wine & apps... too bad I can't enjoy it!
The funny thing is that I was actually feeling a decent amount of movement today (well- flutters, no distinct movements yet). I just felt so good today- I was productive at work, ate a great lunch with no issues, and just overall didn't have the 1st Tri funk that I've been working on getting over...
Ah, Napa!
We're supposed to take a babymoon in April to visit SIL's new condo in the Bay area and want to go to wine country. It will be very hard not to swallow all that wine I'll be tasting.
You'll definitely have to come back after baby! Spitting during tasting is such a bummer!
Just wait! Within my 23rd week or so his movement became strong & constant....it's great! Aside from being out of breath all the time (whhhhy do we have a 3 story house?) and my sciatic nerve....I feel good too. So enjoy it
Pregnancy brain. LOL!
I've had my moments.
i had a moment like that the other night in class! it was our first class and we were doing the obligatory "tell us about yourself" thing. well we had to say one interesting thing about ourselves, and it got to my turn and I was at a loss- until my professor said "well...you are 5 months pregnant- that is interesting!" I was like "oh, yeah. i guess i forgot!"
someone in the class made a snotty comment like "well i dont know how you forget that, but WHATEVER". but, its true, I forgot!
How rude! I take it as a good sign that I have other interests in my life than the fact that I am pregnant. I DO NOT want to be one of those women who only ever talks about her pregnancy and kids.
Exactly! In a couple weeks when you start feeling big kicks, it will be hard to forget.
