I'm looking for a good prenatal yoga class. I live in the Balboa Park area. I've never really done yoga either so any suggestions on that front would be helpful too :-)
I go to one up in Vista, but that may be too far for you. It's at Babies in Bloom. I go to the Saturday morning class, but they also have a weeknight class.
Radiance Yoga offers a Sunday morning prenatal class from 10:30 to noon. The instructor is great and it's located in Mission Hills. I attended throughout my entire pregnancy.
I live in Mission Hills and have been looking for the same thing. One that I have found is Yoga One on 7th street downtown and meets on Sundays. Just trying to find the motivation to get off my butt and do it!
There's an adorable boutique in Hillcrest called Dress for the Nines that often has free prenatal yoga in the store on sundays. check their website for updates. I live in La Jolla but if that's not too far for you there's a new yoga studio called La Jolla Yoga Center offering your first week of unlimited classes free and they have prenatal 5 days a week. You could also check with the hospital you're delivering at, I know Scripps and Sharp have weekly classes. Hope this helps!
The maternity boutique "Dress for the Nines" in Hillcrest will be having Prenatal Yoga again every two weeks on Sundays at 1pm starting Dec 27.
There is also the new La Jolla Yoga Center on Fay Ave. that somebody mentioned earlier. They have Prenatal Vinyasa Yoga on Tuesday nights at 6:30pm and on Fridays at 11:45am. It's a really fun class and a good, safe workout, suitable for beginners as well as advanced yogis. You should come and check it out!
I go to the prenatal yoga class at Sharp Mary Birch Hospital. You can find it on the Sharp website. It is a great class geared toward only pregnant women. I feel safe going there because it is also at the hospital!
We have a great Meetup group in San Diego going called the "Active and Happy Pregos" We're always welcoming new members. We've been meeting for about three months now and some of us are about to have our babies. Pretty soon we'll also be setting up newborn-friendly activities, too.
