an "egg wash" like you would put on the top of a pot pie. I just came back from the store thinking we had eggs--and they're out of date (and didn't pass the floating in water test--ugh).

So what can I use if I don't have any eggs or egg substitute?? Gah,

maybe a light touch of vegetable oil?

ETA: a quick google search said milk or melted butter. So forget my previous response.

Yeah, you can brush some milk on the top of the crust.

good ideas ladies!!!!! Maybe I'll do them all--LOL. I can't believe I don't have eggs. And DS was a MONSTER at the store today.....I'm not sure we're even allowed back HA!
