Since you all don't mind me posting . . . I'll start with this one. We got into a big fight (over nothing), and I maintain that it was his fault completely. During the fight, he basically said that I pick on everything his does around the house, but I have the "luxury of doing nothing and being a b!tch". Yeah. He tried to backpedal a little bit after saying this, but I got the message. So in my anger, I told him "not to do another thing for me", including the cats and the cat litter! I don't know why this is my responsibility in his eyes anyway, but it is.
After each BFP, he gets anal about the litter, and says I am not allowed to do it. I let him do it, but I don't think it's a huge deal. My cats are strictly indoor, and I had negative Toxo titers after the last m/c. And, um, hello . . . I'm a vet. He can't shield me from all exposure.
So, we made up a couple of days ago. Tuesday, he didn't do the litter but I didn't think anything was abnormal. Yesterday, I came home after a long day and wasn't feeling very well (cough and cold still), and he is getting into his pajamas at 9 o'clock, and nothing is done in the house. Including the cat litter. I nonchalantly asked about it, and his response was, "Well, since we were fighting about it . . ." I just walked away because I wasn't in the mood to fight.
I shouldn't have said what I did when we were fighting, but he was being a complete jerk at that time. I thought we had moved on, but he's hanging onto this? He's really going to let me do all of the housework, including the cat litter, from this point on? That's great now that I am going to be working an extra day again. Ladies, don't ever marry a man that is "handy" around the house. They start to think that is their only job, and get quite a head on them.
Re: DH is being an douchecanoe
Annoying. Sounds like he needs to be sent up sh!t creek w/out his douchecanoe paddle.
Hee, hee . This is why I love you girls.
So now do you want to know what is worse? When DH acts like that, I don't want to be around. So I've been "falling asleep" on our futon downstairs. What is wrong with this picture? He's in the doghouse, yet in our bed, and I'm on the futon? My fault, but grrr
Oh, I could do that . . .
Thanks for the reinforcement, ladies. I have to go be productive for a little bit today, and maybe go to the doctor. Have a good one!
I can soooooooooooooo relate. My dh is very handy and thinks that his handiwork around the house absolves him from all *regular* housework. ok, you fix something once a month, i clean all day every day.
