I've been thinking about my hospital bag lately and I was trying to decide what to wear home from the hospital. I'm thinking about getting a cute pant/hoodie outfit from somewhere because I want to be confortable. Nothing too fancy.
What are you ladies doing?
Re: Going home outfit for mom?
Workout pants, tshirt and fleece sweater. Function before beauty, baby.

Maybe I will wear one of those.
I am not sure yet. I might bring my Target Liz Lange maternity dress to wear home. It is that or my maternity yoga pants and one of the nicer long sleeved maternity t-shirts that I have.
I think my sister went home in nursing pajamas.
Just because for celebrating purposes, I guess.
Last time I wore yoga pants, a nursing tank, a henley sweatshirt, and sneakers. The pants and sweatshirt were non-maternity but still roomy. (I am still able to fit in them now.)
You may want to bring a separate outfit in case, say, your water breaks on your way to the hospital.
Probably my yoga pants, a tank top, cardigan, and depending on the weather, either my Uggs or running shoes.
Wear maternity jeans if you have to do jeans. It's unlikely your pre-preg jeans will fit you days after giving birth. I lost my weight quickly but your hips have widened and you still have a "pooch" for awhile. You are going to be super sore and wearing a pad so anything slightly fitted in the crotch area is going to be uncomfortable. That's assuming you have a vaginal birth - if you get a c/s, I would think normal jeans would be really painful.
I'm wearing something similar to what I wore home with DS...cute workout type pants of some sort and a cute cotton, stretchy top with a hoodie.
I ditto the suggestions to at least pack another option besides jeans b/c I wouldn't have wanted to wear jeans that soon after DS was born, and I didn't have a c/s. I was wearing jeans after a few more days, but I still didn't wear them for very long at one time. They were just irritating.
My only other suggestion is to avoid anything that is too clingy across your butt. You're going to probably be wearing a pad (and not a teeny tiny one either), so if you wear something too clingy, it's going to show unless you wear a really long shirt. I lucked out last time that my pants were just loose enough that it wasn't bad, but I'm being a little more intentional this time. I'm fine with DD having a diaper butt on the way home, but I don't think I want to match her.
Great minds think alike!
I wore soccer shorts, a tee shirt, and flip flops home from the hospital when I had DS.
I'm sure my outfit will look identical this time.
Remember- you're going to feel like complete crap... sore every where, bleeding like there's no tomorrow, etc. You are NOT going to want to put on a cute dress or even jeans. Go home comfy.

Its really going to depend on the weather here in Mid May...it could be 75 degrees or 40...damn NJ, lol! I plan to pack both, but if its cold, probably my maternity black lounge pants and a comfy longer top and sneakers. If its warm, probably a flowy maternity sundress (looks like it would still be wearable not preggers too) with a cardigan and flip flops cause I love flip flops! Both the dress and pants will be loose enough to not give me "diaper butt" from wearing a pad (I have seen the size of the pads in my hospital, you could freaking sleep on them!).
Incidentally, all of this talk of sore crotches is making me want to cross my legs and never open them again, lol!
I am sure there is no need to get anything expensive. I am not even buying anything. I will probably wear a pair of stretch maternity pants I already have with a nursing tank and a hoodie. Why buy anything just to get into the car and go home? Maybe it's just me, but I don't see the point. Honestly, no one will care (besides ourselves) what we look like after the baby is born. They really only want to see the baby.
After my friend had her baby, she went to her ILs. They opened the door, took the baby, and closed the door on her. The baby is more imporatant now! LOL
