Sharp pain in my sleep

I preface this with, I promise to ask my midwife about it at my next appt. in just a couple days. I also promise not to Google.

But for the past two nights, I've been awakened by a really sharp tugging pain on the left side of my belly. Both times I've been sleeping on my left side. This was a really stabbing, direct pain. Both times I had to collect myself before I was able to slowly turn to my right side and then it immediately goes away. It seems too high to be RLP, but maybe it's just where my muscle has opened up?

I'm going to try sleeping on my right side until I get it figured out, but has anyone experienced something like this?

Re: Sharp pain in my sleep

  • Yeah I get those sharp pains occasionally as well.  I'm contributing it to RLP

  • I think when your uterus is ginormous and you have a human inside you, things like that happen....lol I'd ask your doc to be sure, but I am sure its nothing.

  • I had the same thing once when I was asleep..I was on my right side and there was a stabbing pain a little bit above my hip..I rolled over and rubbed it and it went away but when I tried to lay on it again it felt like it was going to flare up..have a doc appt monday so I'll be asking also :) but I was told it was RLP and my mom said if it wasnt consistant and if I could get up fine and walk around not to worry..havent had it as bad since just faint tugging
