DH has a doctors appointment today that is 2 hours away. He came home from work at 3am and told me I would need to take our puppy to FIL for the day. I told him right then that I wouldn't have time, as I barely make it to work on time as it is. He gets up this morning and still expects me to take her. If I had more advance notice I would have, but seriously 3 hour notice? And the reason he wanted me to take her is because he wanted to stop by his friends house on his way to the doctor. He left the house seriously ticked off, but I asked him to make these arrangements 2 weeks ago and he waited until the last minute, so I figure it was his issue to take care of. Was I way out of line?
Re: was I out of line?
A big pet peeve of mine is when I work to get something planned ahead so there is no confusion, and then somehow there is still confusion....
So no, I don't think you were out of line
Sounds like something my DH would do, why should you rush your morning so that he can stop and visit with his friends... you are the mothership.
Ehh, I don't know how you are with your DH or if this is a continuing isssue. My DH and I try to bend over backwards for eachother all the time. If he needs something, even if it's inconvenient, I try to do it for him. He doesn't usually ask unless he needs help. I"m the same way, he's always trying to do things for me and I try to do them for myself so he doesn't have to. If I ask, he jumps at the chance to help out. Even if it's not pre-planned or a little inconvenient.
ETA: I don't think you were out of line, though... it depends on how you two usually are. If you would've normally helped him out, I could see how it might have caught him off guard. Especially as a teacher, you really can't be late for work. I'm sure it will all blow over.
