QOTD:Anyone else struggle with all the pill popping? What do you take and how do you manage to get it all in daily?

Re: ~*~*~ PCOS Check-In ~*~*~ SAIFW

  • I have started Lupron this week. Started on monday cd 21 with only 10 units. Waiting for AF to show next week so start bravelle again

QOTD: I HATE taking large pills. I think my Metformin & prenats are big enough. I gag a lot when taking them but I try to get a mouthful of drink & swallow. Sometimes my folic acid when I take 2 @ a time gives me problems. I just do it because it has to be done. I take 1000 mg of met in the am with 5 (800mcg) folic acid & evening is 1 500 mg of met, prenat & baby aspirin

  • I just had an appointment with my RE yesterday and it looks like we will be moving to IVM either next month or the month after!!  I have to call today and make appointments for a hysteroscopy and mock transfer.

QOTD:  I think my hardest pill to swallow is the prenantal vitamin.  Mine is the worst tasting vitamin- I have to actually choke it down :(

  • Still in the 2WW. I go back to my RE on Monday. I'm trying to not get my hopes up.

QOTD: I struggled with all the pills in the beginning, but it's pretty routine now. I am a type 2 diabetic and have been on 2000mg of Met ER for about 2 years now. I set a reminder on my phone so I don't forget.

  • Strolling along, counting down the days to our IVF.

QOTD: All I take is Met and Prenatals and the Met doesn't bother me b/c it's helping me and the vitamins are super charging my eggs so I don't mind it either.

  • Got my BFN on Monday so I've been dealing with that, now I'm just waiting on AF to start the next IUI. I had acu last night and started spotting this morning, so I'm hoping we'll get the show on the road soon.

QOTD: Right now I only have a couple pills, my pre-nat and a teeny tiny actos pill so it's not bad.

  • qotd - I don't take met bc I'm hypoglycemic and I can't take reg vitamin pills bc let's just say the don't stay in my body long enough to do any good. I take siblingual folic acid and b12 every night with allergy pill. Everything else are shots and I have an alarm set on my phone for those. Update - 6 nights of stimming done and I'm sitting. In the waiting room for my monitoring apt. Hopefully they'll see something today.

  • I am currently in the 2ww. Everything looked good on my b/w and u/s except my lining. It's too thin, so if this cycle is a bust, I will be moving on to something other than Clomid. I also have a progesterone test tomorrow.

QOTD: Luckily all I take is Clomid and a PNV

  • I would like to join this group if I may. I have been trying to have a baby now for over 2 years. I have pcos.
  • I just finished my last Clomid pill on Tuesday.  I'm going for a CD12 ultrasound tomorrow.

QOTD: Taking the Met is hardest for me.  I take 1000mg in the am and 500mg before bed.  I usually psych myself out before taking it and end up gagging.  I usually don't have any issues with my prenatal vitamins or folic acid.

  • I am coming towards the end of my 2ww.  it is a break cycle so I am not holding out much hope but I did ovulate so there is a chance!  I am 11 dpo today and think i will hold out until this weekend.  We will see.

QOTD:I have gotten better with the pills.  The metformin doesn't phase me anymore, neither does the prenatal.  However, since the met needs to be taken with food, it is hard to me to fit it in.  I don't always think about it at lunch and then have to take a couple at night.  I usually get them all in though.  I feel like I need the divider that my grandmother uses though to keep it all straight!

  • CD 84. Still waiting til my April 12 appt before I do anything else.

QOTD:Anyone else struggle with all the pill popping? What do you take and how do you manage to get it all in daily? I take everything at bedtime ... it's like a pill popping free for all. ICK. Right now I'm taking 1500mg of Metformin ER, so I take those two pills, plus the prenatal vitamin, the DHA supplement, Biotin (for my hair) and Chaste Tree.  It wouldn't suck so bad if they weren't all such HUGE pills (except the biotin which is tiny). Right now I'm also drinking Airborne every morning ::shudder:: because DH is sick and we're going on vacation to Chicago next weekend. I WILL NOT catch it!!

  • Hey guys! I haven't checked in lately, so I'm glad I caught today's Smile

Update: I just got the call for my progesterone results yesterday. It was 1.9, so this cycle was a fail. I'm waiting on a call today for further instructions. The nurse seemed to think my Clomid dose will get upped.

QOTD: I don't have a problem at all with the pill popping. So far, I've only taken PNVs, Provera, and Clomid. I set the alarm on my phone for a universally convenient time to remind myself to take them.

  • Ended up getting a big old cyst this cycle, I meet with the doc next week to decide what to do next.  I'm like 9dpo so we'll see what next week brings

QOTD: I take prenatals (4 pills) my heart meds, cranberry supp, and fish oil.  It sucks every morning, but I'm so used to it its no big deal

  • QOTD: Yes I hate taking pills!! Presently all of them that I take are at night. Except my pre-natal which I take with lunch because I don't eat breakfast consistently.

Update: On Day 9 of prometrium waiting for AF to show.

    Lilypie Premature Baby tickers image
  • I completed provera on Sunday and I am waiting for AF to arrive to start 100 mg clomid cycle. I am eager to get this cycle started especially since this dosage is upped from 50 mg last month. I have never had a mature follicle or O'd on my own so I am not holding my breath this cycle. My RE wants me to go up to 150 mg of Clomid before exploring other options because he is concerns about hyperstimulation (even though I have yet to respond to Clomid). I am hoping that my first ultrasound will be around March 2 and I am excited.

QOTD: I used to have an issue with the pills (especially the D vitamin, it just dissolves if I don't swallow it fast enough but at least it doesn't taste bad). My DH makes fun of my sometimes for having to take so many but he is my personal pill assistant - he knows which pills at which time and brings me my water (just the way I like it - cold water w/ ice and a straw). Without him I would be lost!

  • I have my beta for this b2b IUI cycle (#2 and 3 overall).  I have very little hope and am just looking forward to not having to take Prometrium for a few weeks.  Also I should be starting injectibles and I'm glad to be done with Clomid.

I have no problem taking pills.  I take Met, PNVs, fish oil, wheatgrass, royal jelly, and Co-Q-10.

  • I'm nearing the end of the 2ww.  My nurse told me to come in on 2/22, which is only 13 dpo (15 dp trigger), but I guess I'd at least get a low beta if there was anything to get.  We've been "trying" since 5/09 but this is the first time I've ovulated, so it's technically my first 2ww.  For that reason, I know it's silly for me to be disappointed if I get a BFN, but I have a feeling I'll take it pretty hard.  Trying to remain hopeful.

QOTD:  Currently just taking Prenatal vitamin and Parlodel.  I also take a cranberry supplement prescribed by uro.  So not too bad now.  I'm more put off by the Prometrium pills that are inserted vaginally....I'm so tired of all the mess!

image 30 y/o with PCOS HSG normal, SA essentially normal (slightly low morph but good # and motility) 50 mg Clomid...zip; 100 mg Clomid...nada; 150 mg Clomid...zilch 1/10 Injectable cycle with Gonal-F, Ovidrel, and TI.....Beta 2/22...BFN 2/10 Injectable cycle with Gonal-F and Follistim (long story), Ovidrel..BFN 4/10 Injectable cycle (see above). • Got AF after only 9 days on Prometrium, so I'm starting Femara 5mg tomorrow night!  Ultrasound is scheduled for CD 14, on March 2.  I am crossing my fingers that it actually works!

The pills aren't too bad.  I take my thyroid med first thing every morning (can't take other meds or vitamins with it), take my vitamins with dinner, and then either my clomid/femara/prometrium at night before bed (I set an alarm on my phone if I had a medicine to take at night, since it's not daily and I might forget).

  • I'm waiting on AF to show up so we can get started with our next cycle. This feels like the longest break cycle ever! I am so ready to move forward.

QOTD: I don't have a problem taking pills at all. I take all of my meds at night, right before I go to bed.

  • My progestrone came back very good this month (15.6), so it looks like the Clomid did its job.  Waiting for a BFP at this point!

QOTD: I am a horrible pill taker.  The metformin and prenatal are about as big as I can swallow.  Although the Clomid makes me gag anytime i take it with water.  So I've been trying to take them with juice instead which helps.  I am NOT a pill taker, and now I'm taking 3-5 pills a day and I hate it!

  • I finally started AF after being off Provera for 9 days and my lap surgery to remove cyst in tomorrow morning.

QOTD: I only take a PNV so it doesn't bother me.

After 20 months, 5 IUIs, PCOS, Endo and IVF, our baby is here! Full IF history in blog

  • Oh, goodness. I feel like a druggie these days. Prior to TTC, I wouldn't take pills at all - I even hated taking tylenol! I was very anti-meds.

Now, I take prenatals (2 huge pills)

Metformin (1 large pill 3x per day)

Then, depending on the time in my cycle, I take these:

Prometrium (1 pill per day - unless the pharmacy is out of the higher dosage, then they give me smaller dosage and I take more of them - last time it was 4 pills per day!)

    Femara (3 pills per day)

Estradiol (3 pills 2x per day)

I hate taking pills! A couple times per week, I will gag on at least one of them. Gotta love a pill coming back up and having to re-swallow it! *gag*

  • Hey ladies!

No update here really...mostly focusing on losing weight still..down 9 lbs so far!! Im nearing CD80...bleh...Im hoping my better eating habits and exercise will help AF come all on her own...but Ill call the doc in a few weeks if I still have nothing.

Has anyone ever tried this PCOS System?? I found it on a blog of a woman who had PCOS and bought the program which resulted in success.

    https://pcos.insulitelabs.com/Insulite-PCOS-System.php

I know things like this are never a guarantee, but Im intrigued enough to possibly give it a try.

  • I am currently taking BCPs for 1 cycle.  I just got AF on Monday and my RE told me to start the BCPs today.  I'm taking them so it will shrink cysts, regulate my hormones and so he can control my cycle.  My HSG is scheduled for Monday the 22nd, DH had his SA yesterday and we go in on Monday March 1st to discuss our plan and map out what we are doing.

As for pill popping, it doesn't bother me that much yet, I'm on BCPs, Prenatal Vitamins, Omega 3 supplement and cinnamon supplement.  So yea, its a lot but I don't really have a choice.  I have to make this work.

  • Update:  Just got my BFP last week.  I'm hoping this will all work out but I am so nervous.  We go in next Tuesday to have an ultrasound.

QOTD:  Well, now that I got my BFP I've been able to stop the Metformin and some other pills so that is GREAT!  When I was doing it though I just tried to take it all at once.  I would try to slurp down 4 pills at a time.  So I'd do the 4 Metformin.  Then I'd do my prenatal vitamins, extra folic acid, and my normal pills.  Then, in the 2ww I was also taking Prometrium.

  • Somehow I ended up off the list...Anyway Danielle here.  TTC since Dec '08.  Had an appt with dr today, we're finally getting somewhere.  DH has an SA on Monday and I start Clomid next cycle.

QOTD: Ugh.  I hate all the pills.  As of today I'm up to 4 pills on the everyday schedule with certain days of the month on 5 or 6.  And that's as long as I don't have the flu and need to take Nyquil or anything, LOL.  I used to be really bad at taking them but now I just take it with a tiny sip of liquid thicker than water like milk, or even yogurt, or ice cream (I know, bad)  or whatever, something thick and I take it like a champ now.  I still cringe though when DH takes an asprin without water, yuck.

I revise the list once a month now, so if you didn't check-in during Jan, you were taken off the list. Along with only posting once a week.

Anyway, I am doing alright. I am going for my u/s check on Tuesday and hopefully from there I can get my Lap scheduled for perhaps March. Hopefully the snow will hold off so I can get to the office.

QOTD: I am so BAD about taking all of my pills. I even have one of those daily pill holders, but remembering to take them is tough, even with reminder alarms going off. I have 4 Met pills, pnv, 2 fish oil, 2 B6 tabs, actos; all daily. Blah
