So I had a follow up to my appointment last week yesterday, I did pass my 2 hour GD test, but unfortunatly I didn't pass enough, so my dr. wants me to stay away from sugar (doesn't he know me and sugar are friends??) this was the bad.... He also wrote me a note for sick leave until due date (yay!) so I am finishing up work this week and then staying home! He also did an internal (wasn't fun) but my cervix is long and closed so that was really good news. We discussed delivery's, he won't do breech extractions, so it looks like unless we have two cooperative babies we will be having a c section, not sure how I feel about that....
Re: The good, the bad and the ugly
Breech extractions can be risky. My OB doesn't do them either. Instead, there's a second OB doing an external version. Doesn't sound like much fun either, honestly.
I know EVERY birth experience is different.
For me....Baby A was breech, and so I had a C with the twins (Vaginal with singleton prior - which was truly a nightmare), and because it was an expected C and there wasn't any "emergency" to it, it was SO much easier to recover from. I've heard that Emergency C's are the most difficult to recover from. I went into labor with the twins on my own and called and told them that they needed to prepare for the C before I even got to the hospital, and it was perfect. They monitored me for a while before actually taking me back for surgery, but we had the babies via c that night. I wouldn't have changed any of it. HTH!
