    I used them when I had a cold in first trimester... so lets hope so!

    I went to the pharmacy because of a soar thraot and he said he'd rather me just gargle with warm salt water and drink wam tea. Worked for me.

    I don't think they'd make cough drops that weren't safe to consume.  Although I wouldn't eat a whole bag as an afternoon snack.

    Do they have anything medicinal in them? I used to eat them like candy when I was little. :-) Heck, I still do!

    I think they are more similar to life savers than actual cough drops. Check the active ingredients list. If there's a medication listed ask your OB. If it's sugar/similar, I wouldn't worry too much.

    My midwife said Halls were fine. She just said they have sugar so if you can go sugar free. Then they taste yucky.

     I'd assume Luden's would be okay too.

    In first Tri, I couldn't find a store near me that sold preggie pops for nausea, and my OB recommended the Luden's.  Only thing that got me through was a luden's in my pocket for those unexpected nausea episodes!  it's just candy, there's no medicine in it.

    My doctor told me that any cough drop is safe as long as they don't contain any alcohol.  Just check the ingredient list.
