Help w/writing letter to get out of jury duty

I have a letter from the pedi saying that I breastfeed and it would be best for DD if I'm excused, but should I write one myself as well?( OH is n ot a family-friendly state.)   DH works during the day and I don't have anyone to watch her if I'm chosen.

    Not sure how it works in Ohio, but in NY you are allowed a deferment (I think it's 6 months) the first time you are called. You just have to request it on the summons.

    Haha, if you still get picked, you should just pump in the middle of the trial.  Can you imagine a lawyer trying to argue a case over the sounds of a pump?  Hehe...

    not sure, but in Texas not having someone to watch your child is something that WILL get you out of jury duty.

    In NY it's the opposite - not having childcare is not a valid reason to get out of duty. It's tough here!

    this is true in lots of states, from what i've heard.

    Ditto. I had to defer because I had a meeting the week of my summons that I couldn't reschedule.  Deferment was easy, all I had to do was go online and click through a few things and pick a date up to 6 months later.

    I do know somebody who called to ask some questions since she is BFing and they automatically deferred her but with no later date given.
