I keep seeing Aiden pop up on the top baby name lists.  I find it so odd that I have so many friends, friends siblings, relatives and such with babies/little kids and not one is named Aiden.  I do have one friend of a friend that named her daughter Ayden- that is it.  Anyone else agree that this is not such a popular name?  Any other names like this that everyone claims is so popular but you have never met one with the name?

If it is not Aiden it is Jayden, Brayden or Caden.
Also, I always have to point out when people say they don't know anyone with blank name - how many 6 month olds do you know? Unless you are a daycare provider or school teacher, chances are, if this is your first child, you do have a limited amount of children you do know. Yes, some names are more popular in certain areas then others, but keep in mind that you will be meeting a lot more children your childs age soon.

I don't take one single minute for granted.
exactly my thoughts. it's funny when ppl say they don't know anyone with a particular name which to them means it isn't really that popular.

I actually grew up with a GIRL named Aiden. So every time I hear it, I think "girl". But she's now... 28 years old.
Other than her, I haven't met (or heard of) any other Aidens around my area, although my BIL and his wife are considering it for their DS #2.
Same here! 3 of my girlfriends that are expecting boys are using it! All spelled different... And 2 of my friends just had boys that named them Aiden!
My mom swears she knew of no other girls named Lindsay when I was born.
The rest is history.
Aiden isn't #1 in Pennsylvania, it #11. Maybe that is the reason you don't see it as much.
Aiden is #18 in my state and I only know one baby with that name.

Aiden is EVERYWHERE here. So is Brayden, Jayden, etc... stop the madness!
