Back from Immediate Care...

So I had a URI about 4 wks. ago and then another cold about 2 wks. ago again. Both included a terrible cough. Yesterday I noticed I was having chest pain while breathing deeply and this morning woke up with a terrible upper back ache. Neither my OB or reg. Dr. wanted to see me in case it was something more serious. They wanted me to go to ER but I went to Immediate Care (cheaper and faster). The Dr. said I fractured my sternum in probably from all the coughing and now it may feel worse with my slight cough and the babies pushing upward as they grow. So I have Loratab for pain and should rest and not pick up things and hopefully it will heal in 1-2 wks. I hope this goes away fast- it hurts! In the meantime I was wondering how do you sleep most comfortably at night for your tummy and back??? Thanks:)

Re: Back from Immediate Care...

  • Oh my goodness, I am sorry you are in so much pain.  For me, I sleep on my left side but almost sitting up, the only way I can breathe at night, lol.  I have a pregnancy wedge pillow under my belly too, it takes pressure off of my back and hips.  Feel better and rest up.

  • Thanks. I sleep like that as well but maybe I need some pillows to support my back and tummy too. I forgot how sleepy and dizzy the loratabs can make me. At least I only took one. Just hoping it helps with the pain.

  • Oh you poor thing. I sleep with a body pillow on either side of me and switch from sleeping on my left side to my right side as my hips start hurting me. I hope you feel better soon.
  • Wow!  That's no good.  Hope you heal very quickly and are able to get some relief.
