Re: ***GD Tuesday Check IN***

  • Could I be added to the Check In?

    sunshinegal0726/Michelle/23/EDD April 2/diet only

I haven't met with my nutritionist or gotten my meter yet (I should tomorrow), so I don't know what my numbers are like.  I'm actually kind of excited to start testing so that I can see what's going on with my body. (I know, it sounds weird haha)

  • Question of the Day:  Does stress affect your numbers? Come on, dish? what stresses you the most lately?  Yes, it definitely does!  Most stressful right now is the unknown... when/if I will be induced- when my last day at work will be (if I have a later induction which I WANT- that means I will be at work during a trial which adds stress, etc..but i don't want to waste a week of FMLA by sitting at home without my OUTSIDE baby!!)

Menu: Valentines Day- chocolate?  I had a few bites of peanut butter chocolate pie- it was delish!!!  (after 2 pieces of REGULAR bread, calimari, salad and also half of a salmon/cheese/spinach dish with whole wheat pasta.... my number was 132 after an hour!!)

And I also had a piece of dark chocolate yesterday... numbers were fine...

My treatment plan is  diet only at least until my appointment next week, my A1C level was just below the cut off for immediately going on insulin(as a GD only, great if I weren't pregnant) so they are seeing where my numbers are for the next week before making that decision.

Question of the Day:  Does stress affect your numbers? Come on, dish? what stresses you the most lately?I am unsure what affect stress will have on my numbers for sure as I just got my monitor yesterday but I know sometimes when I am stress I am more likely to reach for that "comfort" food. Right now I am most stressed about the unknown factors, I have an OB appointment Thursday and I have a ton of questions for them, then I go back to the diabetes center next Monday.

Menu: Valentines Day- chocolate?I had an omlette for breakfast, a sandwich for lunch and chicken and veggies for dinner and then carb smart chocolate ice cream for dessert

  • QOTD: Stress does have a big impact on my numbers.  About a week ago, I started getting really stressed about possibly having to go on medicine and my numbers started climbing.  Then one day I just decided there was only so much I could do to control it, and if it happened, it happened.  Ironically, my numbers have been great since then.

Menu - I had a piece of 70% dark chocolate - wonderful!  Don't remember the exact carbs - but I know it was pretty low.

  • can I be added too?

    jmwater7/Jen/EDD April 24/29/ diet only

I got my meter and tested my blood for the first time this morning. meet w/ dr and nutristionist later on this week.

  • QOTW:  Yes, it makes my numbers sky rocket.  I work in m office 2 days a week and my numbers are always higher.

Menu:  I has one bit of chocolate covered strawberry this weekend.  MIL bought them for me.  No idea why since she knows I have GD and she grew up with a sister with type 1.  She knows the diet.

  • QOTD: Stress does affect my numbers. I've only noticed on a couple days specifically...but I was having a mental melt down and sure enough, my numbers were terrible. (That didn't help my stress level. It just added insult to injury.)

Menu: I'm not big on chocolate. But I did have one chocolate treat that was specifically made for diabetics. I have no idea what it was because a friend of mine gave it to me. I just ripped open the package and scarfed it down. I couldn't even tell you the brand. Embarrassed

  • Question of the Day:  Does stress affect your numbers? Come on, dish? what stresses you the most lately?

I'd like to blame my bad numbers last week on stress since I was snowed in with my MIL (had to go to OH for a family funeral), but it was mostly due to the fact that they had too many tempting bad foods!  Stress is a constant for me, so in all honesty, I probably wouldn't notice any effect.

    Menu: Valentines Day- chocolate?

Nah, chocolate isn't really my weakness.  I did have some mac n cheese though!

    carichan / Carissa / 33 (34 on March 4th) / EDD April 13th / insulin

QOTD: Hard to judge if stress affects my #'s because they are all out of whack since I recently got put on insulin anyway.  My family shower is next weekend, so I'll definitely know then because those people can stress me like no others!  LOL

Valentine's Day - Insulin dosage was too high so I scarfed down at Olive Garden.  Breadsticks, fried appetizers, and dessert.  Numbers still weren't high!

I'll be glad when they get this all worked out, which will probably be around the time I deliver and it won't matter anymore! LOL

  • Stress definitely affects me.  A couple of weeks ago DH was working every night and DD was pushing all of my buttons.  I had a couple of horrible numbers that didn't correspond to what I had eaten but were right around the time that she was being extremely difficult.

No chocolate for me on Valentines.  Chocolate hasn't really been appetizing to me this pregnancy so not a big issue to skip it.

  • Question of the Day:  Does stress affect your numbers? Come on, dish? what stresses you the most lately? It seems as if everything stresses me out lately.  I have been having bp spikes the last couple of weeks and today especially seems that it's affecting my numbers.

Menu: Valentines Day- chocolate?  I did not have any chocolate but sure did eat badly for lunch and my number showed it!  Bad girl!

  • Question of the day Yes I've noticed my numbers get a lot higher when I get stressed at work. I haven't noticed it any other time that I've been stressed.

Menu I made a chocolate chip cake for V-Day & I did fine with it. Numbers were a little high but I later realized I had forgotten to take my glyburide that morning. We had a dinner at church that the youth provided & I had cheesecake & my numbers were suprisingly low!
