the average twin delivery is 35-36w, but plenty go to term. Most OBs will only let you go to 38w, some 39w... there is risk associated with letting you go too far - placenta deteriorates, etc.
37w is pretty early if you aren't having any problems - is there a reason he chose that week?
I made it to 38w1d with no signs of labor. Many on here have made it to term... and many have had preemies - it's a crap shoot.
Mine is not yet scheduled but doc and I are planning to schedule sometime around 37 weeks if I make it that far. I had a c/s with DD and will be having a repeat either way. I'm due in July in South Louisiana so I suspect that the heat and humidity will do me in prior to that.
we chose 37 weeks becasue I have been having contractions for a few weeks and am starting to efface. Both babies seem to be over 5 lbs, and my dr really doesnt think I will make it to 37 weeks but he wont schedule before.. He said im past the "safe" point.
Mine will not schedule any earlier than 37 weeks if there are no problems. If I make it that far and require a c section, I'll be scheduled in for the week between 37 and 38 weeks.
