They shrunk in length for me. I would air dry mostly and then throw in the dryer for a few minutes to get them soft again.

I'm tall (I buy long's) and I've never had that problem with GAP maternity jeans.
MrsMucker:i dried mine and they didn't seem to shrink, but i could use them to shrink just a tad.
Mine could use a BIG length shrink- at the seamstress getting 6" chopped off
